Who are the people leading Trinity?
We are a congregation of the Church of the Nazarene. Though we claim the closest alliance with the Church of the Nazarene denomination in particular, we firmly believe that we are part of the Christian Church as a whole- including the Roman Catholic Church, Orthodox and Coptic Churches, as well as other Protestant denominations.
God: This is a loaded question, but in a nutshell we believe that God is eternally existent and infinite, He is the Sovereign Creator and Sustainer of the universe; that He only is God, holy in nature, attributes, and purpose. The God who is holy love and light is Triune in essential being, revealed as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
Jesus Christ (the Son): We believe that Jesus Christ is the Second Person of the Triune Godhead; that He was eternally one with the Father; that He became incarnate by the Holy Spirit and was born of the Virgin Mary, so that two whole and perfect natures, that is to say the Godhead and manhood, are thus united in one Person very God and very man, the God-man.We believe that Jesus Christ died for our sins, and that He truly arose from the dead and took again His body, together with all things appertaining to the perfection of man’s nature, wherewith He ascended into heaven and is there engaged in intercession for us.
Holy Spirit: We believe that the Holy Spirit is the Third Person of the Triune Godhead, that He is ever present and efficiently active in and with the Church of Christ, convincing the world of sin, regenerating those who repent and believe, sanctifying believers, and guiding into all truth as it is in Jesus.
Eucharist: Some may call this "Communion" or the "Lords Supper." Any of the three terms is correct. We believe Eucharist is essentially a New Testament sacrament, declarative of Jesus' sacrificial death, through the merits of which believers have life and salvation and promise of all spiritual blessings in Christ.
Church of the Nazarene: A Protestant Christian church in the Wesleyan-Holiness tradition. The Church of the Nazarene is most closely related to the Methodist Church and Church of God Anderson. Organized in 1908, the Church is now home to more than 2 million members worshiping in over 26,000 local congregations.
Sanctification/Holiness: We believe that entire sanctification is that act of God, subsequent to regeneration, by which believers are made free from original sin, or depravity, and brought into a state of entire devotement to God, and the holy obedience of love made perfect.
NMI (Nazarene Missions International): The International MIssions organization that coordinates the education and support operations for the Church of the Nazarene's missionaries in local congregations.
NYI (Nazarene Youth International): The organizational body that coordinates events and develops curriculum for Nazarenes between the ages of 12 and 25 around the world.
SDMI (Sunday School and Discipleship Ministries International): The organizational body that develops curriculum and resources for local Church Sunday School Directors.
